Enzyme activity means how fast or how well an enzyme can work in a chemical reaction. This activity is affected by several factors that can increase or decrease the speed of reactions inside living organisms.

Temperature:
One of the most important factors is temperature. Enzymes work best at an optimum temperature, which is usually around the normal body temperature in humans. If the temperature is too low, enzymes become slow and reactions happen slowly. If the temperature is too high, enzymes can lose their shape and stop working, which is called denaturation.

pH:
Another important factor is pH. Each enzyme works best at a specific pH level. For example, some enzymes work better in acidic conditions like the stomach, while others work in neutral or slightly basic conditions. If the pH becomes too high or too low, the enzyme’s structure can change and it may stop working properly.

Substrate Concentration:
Substrate concentration also affects enzyme activity. If there is more substrate available, the reaction rate increases because more enzyme active sites are used. However, after a certain point, all enzyme active sites become full, and adding more substrate does not increase the rate further.

Enzyme Concentration:
Enzyme concentration is also important. If more enzymes are present, more reactions can take place at the same time, which increases the overall reaction speed.


So in simple words, temperature, pH, substrate concentration, and enzyme concentration all control how fast or how well enzymes work inside living organisms.
