G1 phase is the first stage of interphase in the cell cycle.
Cell Growth and Activity:
In this stage, the cell grows in size and becomes active. It performs its normal functions and produces proteins and other materials that are needed for growth.
Preparation for DNA Replication:
During the G1 phase, the cell also prepares itself for DNA copying that will happen in the next stage.
