Types of Cell — Free written notes for Biology - 9TH on EduFlame Pakistan.
Cells in living organisms are mainly divided into two basic types. This difference is very important in biology because it helps us understand how simple and complex life is organized.
Prokaryotic Cells:
One type is called prokaryotic cells. These are very simple and small cells that do not have a true nucleus. Instead of a nucleus, their genetic material is floating freely inside the cell. They also do not have many complex internal structures. bacteria are the best example of prokaryotic cells. You can think of them as very basic and early forms of life that still manage all life processes in a simple way.
Eukaryotic Cells:
The other type is called eukaryotic cells. These are more advanced and complex cells that have a well-defined nucleus, where the genetic material is safely stored. They also contain many specialized parts called organelles, each with a specific job, like producing energy or controlling activities of the cell. Plants, animals, fungi, and most other organisms are made of eukaryotic cells.
Simple Comparison:
You can imagine the difference like this: a prokaryotic cell is like a small, simple room where everything is in one open space, while a eukaryotic cell is like a well-organized house with separate rooms for different tasks.
This organization makes eukaryotic cells more efficient and allows them to build complex living organisms like humans.
