What is Cell ?

A cell is the smallest living unit of life. It is like a tiny building block that makes up all living organisms. Every plant, animal, and even microorganisms are made of one or more cells.

Structure and Function of a Cell:
Even though a cell is very small and cannot be seen with the naked eye, it carries out all the basic functions needed for life. You can imagine a cell like a small, busy factory. Inside it, different parts work together to keep the organism alive. Some parts control what enters and leaves the cell, some produce energy, and some help in growth and repair. All these activities happen in a very organized way so the cell can survive and function properly.

Types of Organisms Based on Cells:
Some organisms are made of only one cell, like bacteria, and they are called unicellular organisms. Others, like humans, are made of millions or even trillions of cells, and they are called multicellular organisms.

Specialization in Multicellular Organisms:
In multicellular organisms, different cells perform different jobs, such as muscle cells helping movement or nerve cells carrying messages.

So in simple words, a cell is the basic structural and functional unit of life, because everything a living organism does is ultimately carried out by its cells.
